Heartstopper, Vol. 1

I first watched the series to Heartstopper and, honestly, that’s pretty much how I do most books with screen adaptations. 💁‍♀️

Shy and softhearted Charlie Spring sits next to rugby player Nick Nelson in class one morning. A warm and intimate friendship follows, and that soon develops into something more for Charlie, who doesn't think he has a chance.

But Nick is struggling with feelings of his own, and as the two grow closer and take on the ups and downs of high school, they come to understand the surprising and delightful ways in which love works.

  • I FINISHED THIS IN ONE SITTING. I’m certain I only read this in a few hours. 🥲 Two, to be precise.
  • If you watch the show, or you don’t have access to the show, the two feel like the same thing. It’s been a while since I watched the show, but I felt as though not much had been changed for the book-to-screen adaptation. You could technically get away with not reading this book and just watching the show. 👀 Felt that similar. The second book is probably going to cover the latter half of the first season of the show 🤷‍♀️🤔
