Cold Drops and the Angel Tree

I hate taking cough syrup and cough pills, but cough drops are the worst. I would much rather suck on an icky-tasting hard candy-like “drop” that had cough medicine in it. Why can’t they make those? >.<

I like Ricola throat drops, though. The original flavored honey ones are the best, says I. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Aside from the taste, they seem better for you than the other cough drops. Ricola drops are made from natural ingredients – like herbs. Ah, how I would love to drop a Ricola drop into my mouth right now…

Last Christmas, Mimi and I participated in Wal-Mart’s Angel Tree thing. At random, I chose a little girl who needed/wanted:

  • a pair of socks
  • something fun to do
  • things to color

I think she was about Carrie (6) or Patrick’s (8) age. Anyway, participating in this took “most” of my Christmas stuff, Mimi had told me. I said it was fine. This is what we ended up getting her (at Wal-Mart):

  • a Christmas card
  • some electronic pet thing
  • coloring book
  • a package of socks
  • a pair of Christmas/Winter socks
  • a scarf
  • Bonbons nail polish (example)
  • travel-size nail polish remover pads
  • crayons
  • stuffed animal (about the size of a regular size laptop when it is open)
  • gift bag (to wrap the stuff in)
  • tissue paper
  • a few other things I can’t remember

It turned out that most of the people that had participated in this simply bought the kid a bike. o.o We didn’t think of that. >.>

I liked shopping for the little girl, though. I’m pretty sure they did not put her real name on the cardboard angel. If they did, then I hope Abigail liked it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yup. ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s like they got to know everything they need to know about their character so they just fall in love. ๐Ÿ˜€
Thank you, i feel so proud!.

I love cough drops especially the lemon flavor. That’s the best one, i sometimes eat it when i’m not even sick. ๐Ÿ˜› I hate Ricola, it has a taste of sickness to me.

I like how you did not buy the kid a bike. Yeah a bike is fun but now they have fun things that none of the other kids have.

We have something similar to that at K-Mart. ๐Ÿ˜› I haven’t been there in a long time, though, but it’s nice to know that you helped out that little girl. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure she loved everything she got. Not everyone likes a bike, at least I don’t think everyone does. I couldn’t ride a bike until I was 14 years old.

Some throat drops are disgusting. Some taste nice. I love Ricola! My mum bought them on sale once, I just treated them like lollies and I didn’t think they actually worked for throats. They’re really nice~ =)

I don’t mind canned tuna. I always clean the outside of them, since I heard some story about a man being poisoned from drinking from a can of coke. I always wipe the top and all… :S

I just read the prologue of your story, I love it so far. <3 My mum always wanted to read my writings when I was younger… I didn't want her reading it, because for some reason it made be feel uncomfortable.

Haha thanks! Nah let's face it, my domain collective looked absolutely terrible before. ๐Ÿ˜›

I told my mum openly that I don't have as many girl friends as guy friends, she thinks it's because I'm bitchy to them or something. O_O People should stop judging us.. :/

What’s this Wal-Mart’s Tree Angel thing? How do they pick the kids like Abigail? It sounds like something sweet for hopeful children. That’s a lot of great things you got her though, I prefer that much over the bike.

It snows on Christmas in Texas? Whoaa I didn’t know that, I’m sorry I’m an ignorant noob. I’d expect it to be warm in the south, my grandparents are in Florida and I used to visit them in the warm winter all the time.
