Not everyone finds themselves to be beautiful. Heck, I don’t even find myself to be beautiful half of the time. But even though you’re feeling down, there’s still some things you could at least try doing, because there’s always a maybe when it comes to handing you that ladder so you can climb out of whatever depth of a pit you are in.
Rather than letting you continue tumble down, I’ve made a list of things I hope will help you in any way, because no one deserves to feel like their lives are lower than dirt no matter what they’ve done in the past.
The LIst of Pick-Me-Ups
I, Liz, am prescribing you to take any of the things below and try them in your life when you are feeling down. These things have worked for me, family members and my friends. 🙂
Post-Its
In your locker, in a folder, in your wallet… Here, I’ll just list out some places you could stick Post-Its (or something similar) with POSITIVE messages on them…
- binder
- laptop
- dresser
- bathroom
- mirror
- door
- closet
- nightstand
- alarm clock
- any place you’ll look at often, or at least just once, each day
…and what are some things they could possibly say? COMPLIMENTS. It doesn’t matter how conceited they sound as you’re writing them.
Forget-Me-Nots
Own a cell phone? Set an event in your calendar to remind yourself of how great you are. Make it a random day. I have multiple events happening throughout the week, but not like your average event. Type up something nice about yourself as a reminder that you’re beautiful, that you’re great – that you’re you, and you don’t need to change for anyone else but yourself (as long as you want to change).
The event will come up on your phone, and you will hopefully read it. After all, you never know what’s going to happen on said day, right? I mean, you could be saving your life right there! 😛

#22. Love that one. Makes me feel like the shit and makes me feel like I am better than every guy out there. 😛 I’m listening to it now, thanks to you! <3 I don't really like a lot of the music you tossed on that list but I have my own playlist of songs that make me feel positive! Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves is one of them. 😉
I love this post. I wish I could stick a +1 sticker on it or favourite it or something. I think it's important that everyone learn to love themselves in every which way. I need to pop positive notes around every now and then for myself too. :B

i’ve heard of people using post-its and writing on their mirrors for inspiration. I made my alarm say something positive like “good morning gorgeous” or something along the lines so when I wake up to turn it off,it’s the first thing I see.
nice suggestions 🙂

Haha, the alarm thing is pretty cute ^^ And thanks. It seems like a lot of people have been – or still are – down recently. :/

Aww I think every person is beautiful in their own way…beauty lies skin deep 😀 You just need to love yourself first if you want others to follow suit. Yay for pick-me-ups!
I like the idea of post-its. I used to have some quote-cards that I would stick on my walls, etc. I think post-its a good alternative to make my own :3
I have never thought of making events to tell me that I am awesome XD. I love this one!
I will definitely give your playlist a try! I haven’t heard FF5 before so thanks for sharing…I hope to enjoy them as much as you 😀

I’ve sure had moments where I’ve felt really down and ugly.
The post-its are a great idea; I’ve done this for my mum before, when she’s been down, I stuck a bunch of post-it notes everywhere with little messages on them to remind her what a great person she is. It definitely cheered her up.
I’ve used my cell for things like that before too. When I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 and a half years I was really pretty crap, so put messages in my phone and it just reminded me that I’m not worthless, paha.
Music is my life; it always cheers me up no matter what. That’s not my type of music, but hopefully other people will find those helpful. :3 Despite listening to quite “depressing” music, it always makes me smile.
