Makeover in the works

Yesterday I worked on 6sticks. The name was inspired by tally marks (which look like sticks) and fish sticks (a food I’ve grown to strongly dislike). To be honest, I didn’t think I’d fall so in love with it! I don’t know if I can say it’s the best I’ve ever made or anything, but it’s definitely not something I would have predicted myself making. There are hints of colors from the rainbow (ROY G. BIV). Figuring out what exactly indigo is was a bit difficult. Although it uses the same style sheet as Effy, it is still quite different from what I normally create.

I’m not going to use it until 2013, though. And to be quite honest, it looks the furthest from what I’d originally intended. However, I just started “doing” it, and what I came up with actually worked and looked nice. Melissa and Dez like it. :p I’m guessing it’s pretty lovely! 6birds is getting a makeover, and 6 tally marks + “birds” is the new official logo. Writing “6” all of the time has been expected from the start. Also, it’s quite boring and annoying. So it’s going to have tally marks, and it’s going to enjoy those tally marks. ~

My blogs are growing more and more sparse, and I hope to fix this soon! I don’t know about you, but it’s kind of annoying me. >.< I think I’m going to write up some drafts and start scheduling them. πŸ˜‰

I’ve come a long way with 6birds. Around this time of the year every year since I purchased 6birds I’ve wondered why I continue to renew it. I also imagine what it would be like if I just let it slip away and just drift off of the web, then come back with a new site later on. Just to start over. I’d do a lot of things differently. Then I think about all that I have invested in 6birds – layouts, time, money, etc. 6birds is my main creative outlet. I really do want to keep it forever. I want 6birds to be something I can tell people about and people can count on finding me at – I want to be able to say, “I’m Liza. You can always find me at 6birds. It will always be mine.” As far as I’m concerned, 6birds is forever mine.

LOL I write all of my blog posts out in advance, but I forget to upload them or whatever. So I have a month of posts on my desktop taking up space. Sadly none of them are relevant anymore. πŸ™ I absolutely love this theme that you currently have up, and I cannot wait to see the new one. πŸ˜€

I’m really looking forward to the new layout. I’m loving this one right now so I’m guessing the new one will be much better. πŸ˜€

Liza,

Typing up your blog posts early and scheduling them was the best advice I’ve ever heard of! Especially since I’m pretty busy with my web design clients, it’s difficult to juggle blog posting, commenting, and working on their designs too. Makes me want to scream!!!!! I’ve been working on a clients website ALL day and I still have NO progress! Ugh!

Haha, you’ve never heard of typing up your blog posts??!! It really does make things easier. :p

I can’t wait to see your new theme! πŸ™‚

I feel the same way about my blogs, except I can never think of anything to blog about! Well, I do when I’m not at home. Then when I get home, I forget all about the topic! πŸ™ I’m going to have to start writing them down lol.

6birds is how people identify you! I could never imagine 6birds not being owned by you.

In reply to your comment on my blog: yeah, I’m pretty pissed about it since this isn’t the first time she’s copied me, but it’s the second.
I was thinking about doing that before, but I wasn’t sure back then if I was just being paranoid that she copied me lol. But I’m going to contact her maybe today (or tomorrow).

By the way, I love the falling snow! It’s adorable! πŸ™‚

I like the colors used in this layout! Domains are like online identities; it’s hard to imagine giving one up after you’ve put such time and effort and interest into a particular domain name. It becomes a part of you, in a way.

Can’t wait for the 6birds new layout! Looking forward to it (:
