I’m supposed to remember all the stuff I did this weekend, but I can’t really remember it! To be honest, that frustrates me.
Friday I worked on one of my projects in the TCG department. I’ve sort of been flip-flopping between working on Capture and Spree lately. Spree got a new URL Friday, and that server was frustrating me and giving me problems, so I moved it to my server/hosting. I kind of like it more, though, because I can go into phpMyAdmin at my discretion. Before, I didn’t want to bother Jamie, so I just did without certain features. Now, though, I can have whatever I want for it because I can go into it. I was trying to make the join form include the list of members for the referrals, and everything I was trying wasn’t working. In the end, I Christina gave me an easier way. However, I’d already 1) figured out how to make a “query” and draw things from a database[1. I never knew how, and now it makes much more sense!] and 2) gotten it to work. Even though that’s one more column in the database, at least I learned how. <3
Now I’m going to work on figuring out how I could possibly make MyTCG hacks/features. :3 For example, if I could figure out a simple updating platform that would work with MyTCG (just the logging in part and using the same database), that would be more convenient for me rather than having to go into Cutenews each time to update.
Saturday I awoke and packed my bags to go to Bri’s. Charan dropped by to pick me up, and we went to In-N-Out and Yogurtland. Afterward, we went to meet Bri at a mall in Plano, where I would go with Bri. 🙂 On the way there, we were almost in a wreck because of an idiot driver who most likely wasn’t paying attention to what was happening on the road. Charan and I were freaked out and laughing nervous laughs.
After I got to Bri’s, we chilled for a bit and watched We Bought a Zoo, then went to play Bunko/a party. It’s an adult party, but there were kids. White wine tastes incredibly disgusting. Did I mention that I tried red wine at my dad’s? Well, I thought that was gross. Um, no. Not as gross as this. Maybe wine coolers are my thing… I’m just gonna stick to strawberry kiwi wine coolers. However, if I wanted to enough, I’d rather have had the red wine. Some people get serious about Bunko, though. And the kids playing made it a bit more frustrating.
Also, wanna know what else is frustrating? The fact that so many kids from high school look like they’re much older than they actually are. FML.
Sunday, we went to Bri’s church. As a first-time guest, I received a Starbucks gift card. Afterward, we chilled at her house. To let you know how exhausted we were, we only slept for about four hours. -.- Bunko goes fast (plus, there were other games and activities and such), AKA time passes so quickly.
She brought me back here, to home[2. This still doesn’t feel like “home” to me; it’s complicated. So please keep in mind that I use this as just a general term.], and on the way we had to go to Texas A&M at Commerce to drop some stuff off. We also stopped at Starbucks and Taco Bell. I think I really love the Doritos Locos Taco (regular, not supreme) more than anything now – even more than my usual! Everything else just tastes so bland!
And when we arrived back at this house, we sat in her car and ate and just… talked. For two hours. About life and whatnot. In general – like relationships, what we could have done differently, mistakes, etc.
And you know what? I decided today that I’m going to make a recap of the year blog and post it. I mean, why not? I’m not ashamed of anything that I did this year. Why should I be?

Go on and write the recap. Many bloggers will be doing the same, and there’s nothing wrong with writing a recap, even if you were ashamed of some of the things that you’ve done.
I think that wine, most alcohols really, are acquired tastes. I hated wine when I first try it, and now I have no issues drinking it at all. Same goes for scotch and (some) beer. Believe it or not, it didn’t take a long time to acquire the taste. Just remember to chill the white wine before you drink it, because otherwise it’ll actually taste disgusting.
Just a random idea: since you are managing to teach yourself all of these web-concepts, such as working with databases, what would you think of going back to school to learn these skills at some point so that you can get a job at a place better than Wal-mart?

By the way, I am NOT pressuring you to go back to school right away. Just figured that I’d throw that idea out there for you to think about in the future.

I’ve considered it. I’d really like to, though. It would [most likely] have to be one class though, since I’m on financial aid probation because of my sucky grades. And if not an online class, I’d have to be able to drive. Almost everything revolves around & depends on me driving right now. :L Me getting into two wrecks in two weeks doesn’t help any, either.
Yeah, Bri just got the wine from her car. Perhaps that’s why it was so horrid?? Yet she thought it was just fine.
