Spuhbob

I’m visiting my dad, Kimily and Ruby [1. Kimily is my stepmother, and Ruby is my 20-month old baby sister. There’s also a calf named Ruby – that’s not who I am talking about!] in Euless. ๐Ÿ˜€ Ruby can walk now – and talk a little bit, too! It’s so adorable! She is brushing her teeth right now. ๐Ÿ˜› Babies are so cute. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just put her in her baby bed – she kept coming into the office (currently being used as a guest room) to tell me goodnight.

I owe seven comment replies – I will try my best to reply to them all by tonight! [2. Or at least the majority.]

Ruby loves Spongebob Squarepants… Hearing her say “Spuhbob” is cute, too!

Anyway, onto other things…

I am working on organizing 6birds a little more –

  1. Trashed 75% of my drafts because they consisted of merely a sentence.
  2. Reduced my category count from 67 to 15 (No more “parent” categories, etc.). [3. I did this Sunday night, when I was watching the kids for my mom whilst she and Lard were at the hospital with Patrick, who needed an emergency visit. Pat is fine, now. Moving on…]
  3. Only accepting comments after I reply so I do not get behind on comment replies. [4. Georgina had mentioned that she does this, I tried it, and it worked much better than what I was doing: accepting all the comments I received and trying to remember who I’d replied to.]

I haven’t really been eating fast food lately – not since school has begun. In the past two weeks, the most of a sparkling drink I have had is three cups. Mimi bought a package of LIPTONยฎ Diet Green Iced Tea with Mixed Berry Flavor bottles and a package of water bottles at Wal-Mart.

The water is gone, and she picked up another package of the green tea from Wal-Mart yesterday.

About the categories – they are broad for a reason. After looking at a few fellow blogger’s categories, I decided to go for something not so specific. Tags will be used to specify, if needed, what the subcategory is/should be.

Things to work on next include but do not limit to:

  • tags
  • About me page
  • Links page
  • figure out another plugin for the Archives page

I hope everyone has a happy Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ruby’s 20 months old, and Saturday, March [redacted] I will be 20 years old.

That sounds absolutely adorable! My little sister isn’t young enough to have speech slip ups like that any more. ): I honestly miss it! Ruby sounds so cute!

I admire you 100% with the drafts and comment portion of your clean up! I need to do that soon, and hopefully I’ll get on track with that because I fall behind on comments extremely easily.

I hope you’re having a good week and I would comment your newest blog entry after this one, but I’m at school and the school computers don’t allow me to see your image D:

@Jessi, Maybe it is because the image is on and hosted by flickr. Since I switched hosts, I have been keeping my images on flickr (or at least the photography) because the WP-DB-backup plugin does not include the wp-content folder, which means that all of that was lost. ๐Ÿ™

Ruby is so cute! ๐Ÿ˜› Ahahh.

Thanks! I have been organizing a little more. xD It’s actually a really refreshing feeling each time I work a little more on cleaning up 6birds! I think I am going to do this every spring. It makes sense. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hey! Thanks for entering! Please provide a valid e-mail though. The email, althoughy ou said it was in the provided link can not be directly accessed because it’s purpose is basically to contact Gravatar. Thank you. Please post it below your entry before the start of the competition. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Cara, I provided a valid e-mail in the comment. It can be seen on the comments dashboard on WordPress. I am not posting it publically like that. It is not you; it’s me. If you would like, I do not mind e-mailing you to let you know that that it my e-mail address.

Lol@Spuhbob! XD The thought of Diet Green Tea just sounds kinda gross to be honest.

@Alice, I love green tea!! But ONLY LIPTON’S Mixed Berry flavored green tea. Mimi just buys the DIET because … Ugh. I don’t even really know why, to be honest. >.<

Wow… 67 categories? That’s a lot! Must have felt good to get rid of some ๐Ÿ˜› I should really sort out my tags too, if I stop paying attention for just a few posts they’re all over the place. And now I haven’t been paying attention in months… x.x

I don’t think it’s safe for me to be around cute things like babies. I’m high on hormone pills and gets a huge urge pinch their squishy cheeks. /blush

What plugin did you use for your Archive page? I use Clean Archives if you want a recommendation ๐Ÿ™‚

@Tina, I don’t remember what I used for my Archives page. I will try that, though!

Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw Ruby sounds like a really cute angel/baby. I think you should totally put a picture up on 6birds so we can all go “awwwww” behind our computer screens. Haha.

Not eating fast food is a good in fact because of all the unhealthyness involve in the food-making. Plus, I heard kitchen crew sometimes do nasty stuffs to our fries and burgers. Ew.

And being organized online is good. Its good in the long run, less messy. I’m trying to be as neat as possible on my site so that I won’t have to deal with all the messiness. I don’t use tags because I’ll probably forget my tags and have stuffs like “work” and “works”.

@Karen,

I fell into the not-keeping-it-clean habit on my website. I think that’s why I’m having this problem now, haha.

I know the feeling. XD I don’t want endless tags though, so I really try to keep it clear and concise.

I used to have some Japanese penpals and we’d send each other stickers and photos and other cute stuff all the time. That was only in high school though, because it was done through the school it wasn’t done often and it was more of a ‘casual’ thing just to get us involved in each other’s cultures somehow. XP

I’ve never been able to be around little children for a long period of time. It isn’t that I don’t like them, it’s just that I don’t have that motherly instinct so many of my other friends have, which means they come and cling to me and I have no idea what I’m supposed to do. Ruby sounds adorable though. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s how I classify all my posts – with general categories, and tags specifying more about the content. It makes it much easier to have posts with similar topics bunched together, while having more posts that have similar topics put into even more bunched-up sub-categories. I sound like a nerd, or something, but it’s extremely useful. ๐Ÿ˜›

Ha! I also do the same with my comments (and, as we speak, I happen to have 7 comments as well). It’s so much easier to keep track of who’s been replied to, and who hasn’t. This is why WordPress is just so wonderful.

Good luck with the rest of your work! And I adore these smilies. They’re too cute.

I’m not one easily brought down my depressing things either, but this is my mom, and we’re really close, and so it’s hit home pretty damn hard. I’m trying to be strong though, because I don’t want to break down every time someone puts “mom” and “lymphoma” in the same sentence.

I hope your grandmother is okay. I will pray for her. <3

Oh man! It sounds like you’re having a good time! Only one more week until your birthday!

I can never figure out how to organize all of my posts into tags and categories. Hopefully, you won’t be going back and forth all the time like I do. And with the “types” in WordPress 3.1, it’s even harder… blah!

@Stephanie,

I just need a WordPress archives plugin that is at least somewhat easy enough for me to figure out. D:

Awww, that’s great you got to spend some time with Ruby! Babies are so cute, it’s fun to watch them grow and develop.

I always keep my comments moderated until I’ve returned them; it’s just much easier to know which one’s I’ve replied to and vice versa.

I use tags rather than categories, i don’t know why, I just prefer them. I don’t really know how you’re supposed to use them, or whatever. Doesn’t bother me. I have some pointless tags building up though.

Good luck organising everything. ๐Ÿ™‚

@Vicky,
Thank you! I haven’t done much since I posted this, but I have not really been online, either. Well, not on a computer, that is.

How did you close your comments and the comments that are on those entries still be there? I need to do that – spam keeps commenting on previous entries. D:

I’m glad you got to spend some time with the babies. They are fun to be around. My nephew is just starting to talk so I get to hear the interesting things they have to say.

@Deanna, It was just one baby (Ruby), but yes, babies are fun. <3

Babies are the cutest when they start to walk and talk. Babies are just the cutest things ever.

I try to reply to the comment before approving it so I know which ones I’ve returned and which ones I haven’t. I have a few drafts as well. Most of the time I write the entry but then don’t feel like posting it so it ends up just sitting there.

I have 7 too, as we speak. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am not really around young ones, my younger cousins are too old now… but probably soon my older cousins will be starting families. :B Kids can be really cute sometimes!

My tags are a mess, much like your categories. ๐Ÿ˜› I have so many of them, but they’re not necessary. My friend linked me to an article about categories/tags and how to use them properly. I don’t remember the link though. But categories are broad and in the tags you don’t really need to repeat anything you’ve already written because it’ll already be read by search engines.

I use tags to mention little things in my blog, like names and things that are of significance.

I send letters from time to time, or I write something for a friend and give it to them in a letter. It’s so much more personal. :3 I love making cards, but I don’t have many friends to give them to. ๐Ÿ˜›
